So a few days ago, I posted this thing here listing some of the parallels, and juxtapositions between Daryl and Carol’s storylines in 4B. Put down on paper, it’s kind of amazing how closely these two were circling around and near one another, even though they shared virtually no screentime together in the back half of that season.
That lack of screentime is one of the arguments used by some people to ring the death knell of the Caryl ship. Yeah, I don’t get it either, but whattaya gonna do? People, right?
Last night, the deleted scenes from The Grove came out and OH MY LORD, it just gave us more fuel to add to the Caryl fire. And when you put all of these together down on paper, it’s actually a) hilarious and b) knock-you-over obvious that the writers, IMO, not only intended to show us Caryl (however you define it) without them sharing screentime, but did a remarkably brilliant job of it, laid out an amazing set-up for their reunion in S5, and built a really interesting platform for how to progress the story of these two adorable snuggle-monkeys moving forward.
First…here be spoilers…
So dokufu made a really great post earlier that got me thinking thoughts at a time when I really just need to put my nose to the grindstone and banging (heh) out a couple of proposals LIKE RIGHT NOW.
But I have so many feelings about the point made in their post, and how Daryl and Carol’s storylines were paralleled and contrasted ON PURPOSE in S4 to keep us thinking about them going into Season 5. Like, it’s PAINFUL these feelings. Stabbing painful.
And I also got to thinking about certain opinions that shouldn’t really matter but get under my skin enough to A) make me want to tell certain people to fuck the fuck off and B) write what I’m thinking down.
